I've decided to create a general thread for Gamecube discussion, and it seems I have the first post in the gaming sector. Discuss anything related to the Gamecube here. Games, memory cards, homebrew, etc. I will start us off. I've been moving around recently a decent bit, but soon, I should be able to properly setup my Gamecube again. I haven't modded it as I only use it for Gamecube games due to my Wii being 2nd gen and thus unable to play GCN games right off the disc, and being unable to use the memory cards. However, I do currently have 3~ memory cards, one of which I got recently and is one of those really large 1024 megabyte cards, very unofficial of course. I will keep some regular 2 megabyte cards laying around for the few games which will not allow ridiculous sizes. The memory card has like 8~ sectors of 128MB each, and you can easily switch between the sectors via a small button on the card. I haven't yet tested it out, but I should be able to very soon on a game like Animal Crossing or Mario Kart Double Dash. Once I can do so, I will report back the results, which should be good.

I may consider picking up a copy of Phantasy Star Online for the Gamecube, but I already own a PAL copy of the OG Xbox version, and on Gamecube I'd have to buy a LAN adapter or something of that sort to play it. Still would be useful if I decided to play Mario Kart Double Dash via LAN Play, but only if I could get upwards to 8 people on different Gamecubes also willing to play through XLink Kai. I've had a very good idea which would allow ridiciulous memory card sizes without risking breaking game compatibility in rare cases, but I haven't so far actually figured out how it should work in order to prevent insanity.

I feel like the GCN is largely overlooked in terms of console collecting compared to the 64 and wii. I think it's a really cool piece of hardware with some really cool attachments. Like the classic fold up screen or its lesser known brother, the game cube stereo

I just remembered one interesting thing, the Super Smash Bros Ultimate controllers for Switch which use the Gamecube port, are literally just one-to-one Gamecube controllers but with SSB instead of Gamecube stuff on it, so you can just get those if you need a newer controller for Gamecube. Very nice.
